Letter Drop
On the 16th of December I took part in a Letter Drop in Aid of St Vincent De Paul. We began the day by getting a bus from our school down to the local church and SVP centre in Deens Grange. I was partnered with Hugo Vicente and the two of us were met by a women named Laura who would be driving us to the estates and showing us which houses to put letters in and a certain number not to put letters in.As we moved from house to house our pile of letters began to get smaller and over the course of two hours we had worked our letters down from a couple of hundred to zero and we were finished for the day. I really enjoyed this experience and found it very rewarding as Laura had many moving stories of the people she had worked with and how SVP has changed their life's. As we left the SVP centre we were all delighted to be presented with three Quality street Boxes to share among ourselves witch was a lovely gesture by all those involved.
Christmas Carolling
On the 21st of December I traveled to St Stephens Green Shopping Centre with my YSI group to partake in Carol singing in Aid of Peter McVery Trust. Upon arrival we were met by two lady's from SVP. They handed us buckets to collect our money and try to enjoy the experience and attract as much attention as possible from passers by. I was delighted to hear a constant stream of Christmas Classics erupt from us throughout the three hours we were there. I enjoyed every minute of this experience and will definitely look to help partake in it next year.
SVP Hamper Pack
Over the Christmas period our year group made a huge difference in the community, by packing Hampers for St Vincent De Paul and assembling Dignity bags for the homeless with our YSI group. On the 18th of December we began our day by going down to the hall and unpacking all of the food items which had been delivered by Tesco for the SVP Hampers. Once all the food was unpacked and divided we began to pack the food into large cardboard boxes. These boxes consistent of Coke, biscuits, sausages, cake and a number of other assorted foods. After only just one hour we had completed over 200 Hampers. I was then given the opportunity by David O Reilly to help deliver these hampers along with Claire Fisher, Hugo McCabe and Hugo Vincente which I happily accepted. We visited twelve homes in total delivering both the SVP Hampers and Christmas Presents. It was a brilliant experience as each person was so great full and I was quite moved by the reaction of every person. When we finished we then returned to the school to help move all the food, clothing and sanitation products down to the Sports Hall and began packing our YSI Dignity bags. These Dignity bags were then passed on to Tiglin a homelessness organisation who would be handing them out. Overall this was one of my favourite days of TY so far and I hope to continue benefiting my community throughout the year.

On the 18th of April 2018 I participated in a bag pack In aid of Special Olympics Ireland. This took place in Dunnes Stores,Cornelscourt. It was impressive to see how eager everyone was to participate and help out. Arriving at Cornelscourt at 11am we were greeted by the the Special Olympics members who gave us buckets and a vest. Overall the day went really well and everyone represented the school brilliantly.
